Perquimans County, NC – Jamian Morgan, a Perquimans County man, was arrested after officials say he assaulted his pregnant wife and a child.

On his arrest sheet, he is listed as the administrator for the Brian Center, a nursing home in Perquimans County.

Just after 5 p.m. on Saturday, a woman called police stating that her husband was beating her at a home on 107 Landens Drive.

When police arrived on the scene, they say the woman was huddled next to a closet holding a child. They say Morgan was still there. He was arrested and taken to the magistrate’s office and then to jail.

Morgan was charged with assault on a female, assault on a child under 12 and battery on an unborn child.

He was released on bond after a hearing on Monday.

Officials say the woman had contusions, a fractured nose and swelling. The child was also injured. She was taken to the Albemarle Hospital.
