‘Super load’ may cause traffic delays in Suffolk

Suffolk, Va. – A super load move involving a transformer could cause delays in traffic on Tuesday, November 26, between 9:00 a.m. and noon.

Traffic will be temporarily stopped at the following intersections to allow the truck to turn safely:

Hull Street and Kilby Avenue, Kilby Avenue and Route 13/Carolina Road, Route 13/Carolina Road and Dill Road, Dill Road and Hunter Street, and Hunter Street and Hosier Road, with the transformer ultimately being delivered to the substation at Hosier Road.

The load will measure 18 feet, 8 inches tall, 11 feet, 2 inches wide, 75 feet long, and weigh 421,000 pounds.

There will be police escorts as well as certified front and rear escorts.
