Update: A horse that was reported missing in Pasquotank County has been found dead.
The sheriff’s office says the horse was found in a thick, wooded area near the pasture. They say Cajun Cupid got its feet tangled in vines and fell over and was unable break free.
The horse became dehydrated and stressed out trying to get untangled from the vines.
The veterinarian says the horse died from colic, dehydration and stress.

They say Cajun Cupid, a 16-year-old American Quarter horse, went missing from the 1000 block of Horseshoe Road in Elizabeth City on Nov. 28th.
He has a white star strip and snip on his face. He also has two white ankle markings on his back feet and his front hooves are black and his back hooves are white.
Deputies say there is a notch in the hindquarter muscle on the back of Cupid’s right hip.
He does not have any shoes, tattoos or brandings. He has a long mane and tail with no halter or blanket officials say.
Crews have been out looking for the horse but he has not been found yet.
