Parade, event cancellations this weekend

Posted

Here is a list of events that have been cancelled or rescheduled for this weekend.

Currently, the TowneBank Holiday Parade at the Beach is still on. They will have another update at 11 a.m. Saturday morning.

The Chesapeake Rotary Christmas Parade’s website says it will be on, rain or shine.

Rain will not cause the cancellation of Grand Illumination. Only severe weather or high wind that impacts the safety of staff and guests will result in cancellation.

Colonial Williamsburg – The fireworks are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8.

Several events in North Carolina have been pushed to next weekend because of the weather:

Hertford Christmas Parade & Grand Illumination

Because of predicted rain, the Hertford Christmas Parade scheduled for this Saturday, December 7, at 2:00 p.m. is postponed until Saturday, December 14, at 2:00 p.m. The Grand Illumination will still be held on Friday, December 6, at 6:00 p.m. at the Courthouse. Some of the stores will remain open late in Hertford. Come and enjoy the caroling, the lighting, and community fun.

Christmas Parade Rescheduled – Due to an inclement weather forecast, the annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting will now be held on Saturday, December 14 at 9:00 a.m.
