Newport News, Va. – A Newport News man has been charged after he allegedly punched the mother of his child in the face while she held their infant son.
According to police, on December 5th 34-year-old Kenyon Mceachern entered the Gloucester Drive home of a 20-year-old woman and began arguing with her.
The woman told police she tried to go upstairs and Mceachern punched her in the face multiple times. One punch occurred while she was holding their infant son, causing his head to strike the refrigerator.
Mceachern then allegedly fled the home, saying he would return with a gun. Police who responded obtained warrants for felony child neglect and assault on a family member.
On December 9th Mceachern was arrested at the Newport News City Jail by Sherriff personnel.
