The Currituck County Water Department has issued a boil water advisory for Corolla, NC north of Corolla Village Road to the end of the system at North Beach Access Road Ramp.
Service was disrupted in the area due to a water line break.
Due to the potential for contamination from cross-connections or back-siphonage, customers in the area of the Southern Outer Banks Water System are advised to boil all water used for human consumption (including drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, and making ice.)
Boiling for one minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present.
The boil water advisory will be lifted on Friday December 13, 2013 at 6:30 AM.
