The US Marshals for the Eastern District of Virginia announced Thursday that they have captured an Alabama fugitive that has been eluding capture for the past 23 years.
Jeffrey Martin was wanted out of Montgomery, AL for failure to appear on a charge of first degree burglary. Martin was suspected of robbery in 1990 and arrested on that charge but disappeared after making bond.
Martin was featured on Crime Stoppers in Montgomery and thanks to a tip, he was arrested in Norfolk without incident.
He is currently in custody in Norfolk awaiting extradition back to Alabama to face charges.
