Newport News, Va. – A Newport News man was arrested on Friday for allegedly spanking his 12-year-old stepson and leaving visible bruising.
Child Protective Services was notified by a teacher at the child’s school who noticed the bruising.
Police were notified by CPS and an investigation revealed that 31-year-old Chester House spanked his stepson with a leather belt because he had misbehaved in a school-related incident.
House was arrested and charged with endangering or cruelly treating a child. An Emergency Protective Order has also been obtained.
