The Gilmerton Bridge will revert back to its original lift schedule on Friday, December 20.
The bridge currently operates under a construction schedule approved by the U.S. Coast Guard and set to expire on December 20, 2013. The schedule at that time will be as follows:
• Weekday Rush Hour Restrictions: 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (except Federal holidays)
o During a rush hour restriction, the bridge will only lift for commercial vessels that have a two-hour reservation. Bridges will always lift on-demand for vessels carrying hazardous materials or in emergency situations.
• Weekdays: Opens on demand for all vessels 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
• Weekends & Federal Holidays: Opens on demand for all vessels
