A 56-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle accident in the 1500 block of Virginia Beach Boulevard on Tuesday afternoon.
Virginia Beach Police, Fire and EMS responded to the scene around 2:00 p.m. and discovered a 1988 Ford box truck and a 2000 Freightliner 7-Up delivery truck involved in the collision.
Police say both vehicles were traveling westbound on Virginia Beach Boulevard. As they approached Roselynn Lane, the Freightliner struck the Ford from behind. The Ford then left the roadway and hit a utility pole, ejecting the driver.
The driver, 56-year-old Abbes Saddam, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Freightliner was not injured.
The case remains under investigation.
