UPDATE: The wind has died down on the Neuse River, according to officials. The Cherry Branch-Minnesott Beach ferry is back on its full schedule.
Below is a message from the North Carolina Ferry System:
“Well, we’ve got another round of high winds encroaching on the coast. Right now, winds are gusting 30-35 knots on the Neuse River, so we’ve had to go to a one-boat operation on the Cherry Branch-Minnesott Beach route. The remaining schedule for today:
From Cherry Branch:
2:30 p.m., 3:30, 4:30, 5:30, 6:30, 7:30, 8:30, 10:00, and midnight.
From Minnesott Beach:
3:00 p.m., 4:00, 5:00, 6:00, 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, 11:00, and 12:30 a.m.
We’ll let you know if the wind starts affecting any other routes.”
