A team of researchers have caught a rare act on video – an African freshwater tigerfish jumping from the water to snatch a flying bird.
Rumors of such behavior by the fish have been circulating since the 1940s. This video is the first confirmed record.
It was captured by the team in a South African lake in the Mapungubwe National Park, near the border with Botswana and Zimbabwe.
