NewsChannel 3 took action and got results after a viewer told us about snow piled up in the handicap parking spaces in Virginia Beach.
It was fixed this morning - but with more snow coming - the big question is, what's being done to make sure it doesn't happen again?
NewsChannel 3 took action when large piles of snow and ice blocked several handicap parking spaces in the Loehmann's Plaza parking lot this weekend in Virginia Beach.
Less than 24 hours later - we got results!
A worker removed all the snow from the handicap spots around 7 a.m. this morning, and now the company that manages the shopping center is making sure it doesn't happen again.
A senior vice president with the SL Nusbaum Realty Company says the contractor hired to clear the parking lot made a mistake and did not intentionally plow the snow and ice into the reserved spaces.
When they were made aware of the issue - they addressed it as quickly as they could.
The Beach-based company also apologizes for any inconvenience they caused.
The director of shopping center management told us over the phone that the necessary precautions are being taken to ensure the contractor does not make the same mistake, especially with more snow in the forecast.
