Norfolk, Va. - Today, the USS Donald Cook is leaving Naval Station Norfolk - for good.
This afternoon, the ship and crew will head to their new homeport in Rota, Spain.
The USS Porter, which is currently homeported in Norfolk, will also move to Spain next year.
The moves are part of a plan to increase security for the European region.
