Portsmouth Police have shut down the Churchland Bridge in both directions due to unsafe roadway conditions.
After salt and sand trucks treat the bridge, it will be reopened.
Police are asking drivers to avoid this area and take an alternate route home. Police are also reminding drivers to drive cautiously and slowly on their way home this evening and to keep in mind that bridges and overpasses can freeze before the roadways.
