Mayor Brien Lassiter has declared a State of Emergency in Ahoskie.
A curfew is effective from 7:00 p.m. Wednesday until 8:00 a.m. Thursday, and again from Thursday at 7 p.m. until Friday at 8 a.m.
Gun and alcohol sales are not allowed during this time and is has been recommended that people stay off the roads.
