The mystery behind the snowy rooftop message that’s been cheering patients at a Chicago hospitalhas been solved.
In the snow that piled on the parking deck rooftop of Chicago’s Rush University Medical Center, someone Sunday wrote in large, clean letters: “HI MOM GOD BLESS U” (with a smiley face for the ‘O,” for good measure.)
The message could be seen from about 70 to 80 hospital rooms, across four different floors covering the surgical, intensive care and oncology units.
According to WGN, which first reported the story, the message was written by a 14-year-old boy for his mother. Sharon Hart, 48, is undergoing chemotherapy for leukemia at the hospital.
Her son, William, wrote “Hi Mom!” with a smiley face, and then called her, telling her to look out her window. Later that day, he and his dad wrote “God Bless U!” next to it.
