Suffolk, Va. – Suffolk Police and Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to the scene of an accident involving a tractor trailer and two passenger vehicles on Route 58 eastbound near the weigh scales early Wednesday morning.
Dispatchers received the call at 6:34 a.m. Two of the three eastbound lanes were closed and reopened at 7:50 a.m.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the tractor trailer was traveling in the middle lane when a Nissan Altima was struck, causing the vehicle to spin out and strike the center guardrail before being struck by a Honda 4-door.
The female drivers of the passenger vehicles were both ground transported to Sentara Obici Hospital with minor injuries.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
