Gyms at three Virginia Beach Rec Centers to close for maintenance

Posted

Virginia Beach, Va. – Gymnasiums at three Virginia Beach Community Recreation Centers are scheduled to be temporarily closed while moveable walls are sanded and repainted.

This maintenance work will be in progress:

• Monday, March 24 through Sunday, April 6 at Great Neck Community Recreation Center, located at 2521 Shorehaven Drive;
• Monday, April 21 through Sunday, May 4 at Bayside Community Recreation Center, 4500 First Court Road; and
• Monday, May 5 through Sunday, May 18 at Princess Anne Community Recreation Center, 1400 Nimmo Parkway.

These gym closures are staggered to minimize impacts to customers. Group fitness classes usually conducted in the gym will be relocated to other rooms as space allows.

Patrons may wish to visit VBgov.com/fitness or call the recreation center to verify the status and location of the group fitness class before visiting.

All other areas of the recreation centers are expected to remain open while the work is underway. Although efforts will be made to reduce odors and fumes, those with respiratory concerns may prefer to visit another Virginia Beach Recreation Center during these dates.
