Wayne Lavender, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of South Hampton Roads joins us today to talk about the Rebuilding the American Dream campaign.

In celebration of 25 years of service, Habitat SHR is launching a new initiative: Rebuilding the American Dream campaign (RAD). This initiative is aimed at renovating 24 foreclosed and abandoned homes in South Hampton Roads.

Bank of America is helping to kick off the campaign with the donation of $50,000 and nine properties.

As a tie in to the "American Dream" theme, the Norfolk Tides have also partnered with the organization - Rip Tide, the Tides mascot, and a few players will be onsite to join the celebratory event on March 28.

This is a huge community initiative, and an effort that they expect will have a significant economic impact on the South Hampton Roads community.
