Norfolk, Va. - One week seven different shootings, Norfolk police have been busy the last several days.
The latest happened Sunday morning around 3:00 am at the Norfolk Masonic Lodge.
"My grandson ran across the hall and he said, `grandma somebody got shot at the Masonic Temple`,” Dora Morris told NewsChannel 3.
"I heard a lot of people yelling and crying they ran out of the building," Jhoquon Morris, Dora Morris grandson explained. "I just look out the door and there are cops everywhere...everywhere".
Norfolk police found a man shot several times inside. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay.
But Morris says what's not okay are the parties held at the lodge almost every weekend. She says they don't make her feel safe.
Especially after last night, her grandson's bedroom window faces the lodge.
“I get pretty scared because my room is the first room right there," said Jhoquon.
"It could have came through our window," Dora said.
This morning's shooting at the Norfolk Masonic Lodge isn’t the only one that is hitting close to home for those who live there.
There have actually been 4 shootings within this week alone. All of them have been less than 2 miles apart.
One of those shootings was deadly, taking the life of 18-year-old Tyquisha Craig.
"This is crazy every weekend it’s just shootings you can hear shootings and everything, every weekend," Dora explains.
Norfolk police told NewsChannel 3 earlier this week they'll be patrolling the areas where the shootings happened. For some it's not enough.
"There is a lack of involvement in the community...like we are not knowing whats going on, there`s no information," Mia Studivant told NewsChannel 3.
Norfolk police are working to solve these 7 shootings but haven't released any information.
