Somewhere Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor is drooling.
A Honda lawnmower has set a speed record of 117 miles per hour, according to Wired.com.
Honda’s U.K. division reportedly teamed up with its British Touring Car Championship partner Team Dynamics to create the 109-horsepower lawnmower.
The lawnmower consists of a custom-fab chassis and a 1000cc engine from a Honda VTR Firestorm motorcycle. It also contains a custom racing seat and exhaust and a six-speed paddle shift tranny.
Guinness World Records required that the lawnmower must actually be able to cut grass. So, the team that assembled it, created a custom cutter deck out of fiberglass and installed a fuel tank.
