Portsmouth, Va. - A mock terrorist attack was held this morning at nTelos Wireless Pavilion.
The exercise was designed to simulate an improvised explosive device attack at a charity concert.
Volunteers and emergency responders from four area cities came together for the event to practice emergency response plans.
This is the fourth time they've held an exercise like this.
“The first one was an active shooter exercise a number of years ago, the next one was a tornado exercise and then we had a mass casualty incident at City Park two years ago,” John Higgins, Chairperson of the Local Emergency Planning Committee, tells NewsChannel 3.
Agencies from Portsmouth, Norfolk, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach responded to today's event.
