This week, the amount of snow covering the continental United States dropped below 10 percent for the first time since November.
As of April 11th, only 8 percent of the continental U.S. remained covered by snow .
The last time there was no snow anywhere in the lower 48 states was September 21st. Just a few months later, we hit the seasonal high with a whopping 67.4 percent covered on February 7th.
However, it seems that winter isn’t over quite yet. Some models are showing snow falling next week over the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes region.
