Maury High School was placed on a precautionary lock down Friday morning.
According to Norfolk Public Schools, a student overheard another student talking about a weapon, which prompted the lock down.
After a search of the building, no weapon was found and the lock down was cleared.
Parents say the lock down began just after 11:00 a.m. and was cleared around 12:30 p.m.
