Norfolk, Va. – Another Virginia Beach man was cited Monday evening for bringing a loaded gun into Norfolk International Airport.
TSA officers at the airport spotted a loaded .380 caliber Ruger handgun in the man’s carry-on baggage, loaded with six rounds.
This is the second gun discovered in four days by officers staffing the X-ray machine.

The TSA contacted the Norfolk Airport Authority Police who responded, confiscated the gun and ammunition, and cited the man. The man was able to catch his flight to Washington Dulles International Airport—minus the gun.
Passengers are responsible for the contents of bags they bring to the security checkpoint, and TSA’s advice to passengers is to look through bags thoroughly before coming to the airport to make sure there are no illegal or prohibited items.
The TSA reminds passengers who need more information on traveling with firearms or ammunition they can go to http://www.tsa.gov/traveler-information/firearms-and-ammunition to learn more.
