Newport News, Va. – An 82-year-old Newport News man has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a minor in 1999.
According to Newport News police, in June of 2013 a 29-year-old North Wales woman reported to the Deeside Police Department a past sexual assault which occurred between July and August of 1999 when she was 14 years old.
The assault happened while she was in Newport News visiting a relative.
As a result of the investigation, Newport News resident Richard John Martin was charged with Aggravated Sexual Battery of a Child and Indecent Liberties With a Child.
