Newport News, Va. - Rita Reid was home Monday night on River Road. As she took out the trash, she saw her next door neighbor's place turn in to a crime scene.

"I heard a crash and then I looked out to see what it was, and then there was another crash and they actually jumped right out the window," Reid said.

Reid tried to stay unnoticed, not knowing what the two men would do next.

"One guy did look at me and I looked at him and kind of like what? What just happened?" Reid said. "Then he pulled over his head so I couldn't see his face real well so."

Neighbors say the victim was moving. When he came home he found the two men inside his house.

One of them had a gun and pointed it at the 59-year-old victim, the other punched him in the stomach.

Police aren't saying exactly what the bold thieves took off with before they dove through that window.

"One had on a black jogging suit, another one had on a red jogging suit. They had on gloves, they were well covered."

Reid, who got the best look at them, gave a description to police. Unfortunately, it's just their clothes and height since she couldn't get a good look at their faces.
