Newport News, Va. – On weekends only beginning Saturday, May 3, contractors will be milling and paving Warwick Boulevard between Dozier Road and Ripley Street in the northern section of the city.
The work will occur on Saturdays and Sundays only between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. It is expected to take six weekends to complete the project. During construction, traffic will be restricted on that portion of Warwick to one lane only with flagging operations and motorists should expect delays in the area.
This section of Warwick Boulevard serves as an alternate route for Fort Eustis Boulevard during the bridge replacement project currently underway on that roadway. To avoid causing additional traffic delays to Fort Eustis on weekdays, this repaving project is being done on the weekends.
Motorists should expect delays for the next six weekends.
