In March, a Newport News-based YouTuber named Rahat, best known for performing magic tricks and pranks at fast food drive-thru windows, presented a homeless man named Eric with a $1,000 “winning” lottery ticket.
That video went viral and Rahat set up a fundraiser to help Eric. Turns out, Rahat was able to raise over $40,000 for Eric.
On Wednesday, he uploaded a new video where he presented Eric with a new home, with the rent paid through for the entire year and full of new furniture, appliances and everything else a home would need.
Eric, who expresses in the video that he has recently found a job, was clearly overwhelmed with the surprise.
“Everybody that helped me out. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I thank you for sticking with me and I thank you for believing in me. I love you all! I thank you. I thank you for being there for me.”
