UPDATE: Four people have been charged in connection to a shooting in Norfolk. Police say they've charged Raetron M. Whitaker, Elston R. Haley and two juveniles.
Police say an earlier altercation may be a motive for the shooting.
The two adults have been charged with malicious wounding, attempted malicious wounding, conspiracy to commit a malicious wounding, use of a firearm, gang participation, and child endangerment. One of the juveniles is charged with conspiracy to commit a malicious wounding and the other is charged with malicious wounding, attempted malicious wounding, conspiracy to commit a malicious wounding, use of a firearm, gang participation, and child endangerment.
Both adults are being held with no bond in the Norfolk City Jail. One of the juveniles is being held at the Norfolk Detention Center.
Police say a juvenile was standing in the 2400 block of Lafayette Blvd. with a friend when a 2004 silver Buick Century drove by. Police say Whitaker, Haley two juveniles and a 3-year-old were inside of the vehicle.
Witnesses say Haley, who was driving the vehicle, drove by several times. One of the juveniles took out a weapon and shot near the home on Lafayette Blvd. police say.
They drove off and officers were alerted.
Police stopped them at Olney and Whitaker Lane and they were detained. Police say they also found weapons inside.
