Security officials spent Friday morning investigating a bomb threat at Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
According to a Norfolk Naval Shipyard spokesman, the threat was found at 7:40 a.m. and specifically mentioned the USS Maryland.
As a precuation, personnel on the USS Maryland and in the drydock were evacuated for a while.
A thorough search of the area was completed and no explosive material was found.
The shipyard has since reopened for regular business.
The threat remains under investigation.
