“Active threat response exercise” to be held at Jefferson Lab

Posted

Newport News, Va. – On the afternoon of June 11, staff at the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility will participate in an active threat in the workplace response exercise.

The objective of the exercise is to gauge the Jefferson Lab community’s response to an active threat incident.

The exercise is intended to provide a training opportunity for members of the lab community and for emergency responders.

Local law enforcement and tactical response personnel also will participate in the exercise.

Public notification of this exercise is being made so lab neighbors and the public won’t be unnecessarily alarmed. The exercise will take place during standard business hours, and it should be complete before 5 p.m.
