Virginia Beach, Va. – A 38-year-old man has died after officials say he set himself on fire after assaulting a woman.
This happened on Sunday, June 8th at around 7:29 p.m. Police were called to the 3000 block of Polk Drive.
When police arrived, they found a woman who had been assaulted by a man she knew. He was identified as 38-year-old Erin Hunt.
They say Hunt then set himself on fire in the backyard.
Both were taken to the hospital.
The victim was listed in serious condition.
Hunt died on Wednesday at the hospital.
