Join Nauticus’ 20th birthday celebration with free admission

Posted

Norfolk, Va – It’s a birthday celebration! This year Nauticus is celebrating 20 years on the downtown Norfolk waterfront and Saturday, June 14 visitors are invited to join in. Admission will be free all day, but visitors are asked to bring a “birthday gift” of new school supplies to be donated to the Salvation Army.

According to Stephen E. Kirkland, Nauticus Executive Director, “This milestone is a great opportunity to not only look back on all we’ve accomplished but also to look forward to all the great new experiences we have in store for the public.”

The day is filled with activities and will begin at 10 a.m. with an opening ceremony with Norfolk Mayor Paul Fraim. The new mascot, Splash! The Sea Dog, will make a special appearance. Live music, gondola wheel rides, crafts and birthday cupcakes are just a tease of what’s in store.

In keeping with the celebration, Nauticus is offering free admission for dads on Sunday in honor of father’s day!
