Two different men were both shot on the same night in Portsmouth and police still have no clue who was behind the trigger.
The first shooting happened around 11:00 p.m Saturday night.
Investigators say a man was walking down Towne Point Road in Churchland when he was hit in the arm by a bullet.
He called police for help, saying he had no idea where the bullet came from.
“It’s crazy, people can't walk down the street without someone taking their life. I’m sure he was minding his own business,” said Lori Wiggins, who has lived in this Churchland neighborhood for the past five years.
She says it’s the first time she can remember someone getting shot so close to her home, and it all happened on the road she takes walks on with her kids and her dogs.
“We do it quite often, especially in the summertime. We ride bikes down to Food Lion and ride bikes in the neighborhood,” said Wiggins. “Now, I have to look behind my back, keep my kids closer to me.”
Police say the second man shot that night showed up to Maryview Medical Center a few hours later, saying a bullet struck him and he had no clue who the gunman was.
Detectives are still trying to determine whether the two cases are related.
Both men shot are expected to be okay.
