Newport News, Va. – A man was arrested over the weekend and charged with strangling his girlfriend, police tell NewsChannel 3.
On July 13, 2014, at approximately 7:00 p.m., 47-year-old Dung Tran of the 5900 block of Wickham Avenue was involved in a domestic argument that turned physical, according to police.
Tran strangled his 34-year-old girlfriend and pushed her against the wall before leaving her residence on Maple Avenue with their 3-year-old son.
Dung Tran was arrested at his home and charged with strangulation of another and assault on a family member, police say.
