Woman arrested, men wanted in Newport News mob attack

Newport News, Va. – Newport News police are asking for help finding two men who are wanted following a mob attack early Monday morning.

27-year-old Michael David Washington and 36-year-old Simeon Ramondo Spruill are wanted on charges of assault by mob with intent to maim.

Police were called to the area of J. Clyde Morris Blvd and Warwick Blvd. around 12am Monday. The officers found a 33-year-old woman who said she was in a parking lot near the 400 block of Turlington Road when Synthia Spruill, her ex-girlfriend, approached the car.

Spruill and group of people allegedly pulled a 32-year-old Hampton man from the car and assaulted him and struck the woman in the face.

The man was transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention and warrants were obtained for Washington, Simeon Spruill and Synthia Spruill.

Synthia Spruill turned herself in at Police Headquarters a little after 8 p.m. on Monday.
