Virginia Beach, Va. – Some who are determined enough to achieve the ultimate goal of physical fitness use their journey to inspire the same in others.

Tasha Turnbull, owner of T2 Fitness, is one of those people.

Turnbull began her own journey after reaching her heaviest weight of 235 lbs. in college.

“I was very depressed and overweight. I wasn’t comfortable with my body. I knew I had to make a change, so I turned to fitness,” said Turnbull.

Now, much slimmer and motivated to help others, Turnbull has created a fitness challenge to jumpstart the same transformation in her community.

Together with KMK Productions, Turnbull is hosting the 3rd consecutive “Health is Wealth” Fitness Challenge scheduled for Saturday, July 26 at the Boys and Girls Club of Virginia Beach.

The challenge will consist of a “mixxed fit” dance-inspired workout, a weight loss tips segment, and a standing abs workout.

She believes that the challenge is a good tool to get people moving and implement physical activity in their daily lives.

Her nutritional segment is also full of quick tips that participants can take away and use in their own diets.

Most importantly, Turnbull says that overcoming mental obstacles is the first and most crucial step in the fitness journey.

“Stop with the excuses and just go for it. It’s amazing what the body can transform into. I’ve seen it in myself and my clients. Change can occur at any point in time, don’t be hesitant in pushing for it,” she said.

Watch NewsChannel 3’s very own Barbara Ciara participate in the “Health is Wealth” Fitness Challenge, Saturday, July 26, 2014.
