Fans of The Simpsons – take note!
The TV network FXX announced that they will run the longest marathon in TV history by playing all 552 episodes of the animated Fox series over a 12-day period from August 21 through Labor Day.
The Simpsons Movie will also be included, airing after episode 400.
The network acquired exclusive cable and On Demand/nonlinear rights to the show back in November, in what was reported to be the most expensive off-network pact ever.
FXX also announced plans for a new interactive digital and online experience called “Simpsons World” that will include access to every full-length episode via the FXNOW app and SimpsonsWorld.com in October.
The network has plans to air four themed Simpsons marathons per year with the first being a 12-hour Halloween-themed marathon on Sunday, October 26th.
Starting September 2nd, FXX will regularly schedule episodes of The Simpsons throughout the week, with eight-hour mini-marathons every Sunday.
