Councilman Riddick demands answers after two men were shot by police in Norfolk.

Only NewsChannel 3's cameras were rolling inside Tuesday night's Norfolk City Council meeting as Councilman Paul Riddick demanded answers in the deadly police shootings that happened in the city early last month.

Two men were shot and killed.

Riddick called for investigations.

"We're acting like the ostrich who buries his head in the sand when it comes to the deaths of the two Norfolk citizens who were killed by two of our police officers a few weeks ago,” said Riddick. “I believe if we allow those incidents to go unchallenged, then we are setting the stage for other citizens, black or white, who lose their lives at the hands of a Norfolk police officer who either doesn't have the proper training or is out of control.”

Riddick says he wants there to be a grand jury investigation because he feels as though the rights of the victims were violated. He believes that all of the officers that were involved should be made to testify under oath.
