Tractor trailer driver cut with his own knife during robbery in Chesapeake

Chesapeake, Va. – A tractor trailer driver told police that when he walked into a wooded area to use the restroom, he was knocked to the ground and robbed by two people.

Police went to the scene at 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23rd.

This happened in the 2700 block of Trade Street.

Police say the driver told them that this happened before he was to pick up his tractor trailer.

He says when he was knocked to the ground, he pulled out his knife and one of the suspects snatched it away.

He received a minor cut from the knife. The suspects then took his money and ran away.

The driver was treated on the scene by medics. His injuries were not life-threatening.
