Chesapeake, Va.- A man and woman have been displaced after a fire damaged their house on 1421 Willow Ave.

Firefighters were called at 9:17 p.m and arrived 4 minutes later. When they got to the scene, crews saw flames coming from the one-story home.

The fire was under control at 9:31 p.m.

Fire damage was contained to the kitchen, but there was smoke damage throughout the house.

There were no injuries but firefighters provided oxygen to a dog that seemed to be suffering from inhaling the smoke. Chesapeake Animal Control took the dog to an emergency Veterinarian for further treatment.

The two displaced occupants have arranged for a place to stay in the area.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
