Family of six displaced after house fire in Chesapeake

Chesapeake, Va.- A family of six was displaced Sunday evening after a fire heavily damaged their home in the Bowers Hill section of the city.

Firefighters were called to the fire in the 3900 block of Galleon Dr. at 10:06 p.m.

They arrived 8 minutes later and found heavy smoke coming from a one-story house. The fire was brought under control about 30 minutes later.

There were no injuries and the family has made arrangements to stay with family in the area.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
