Woman arrested, charged after allegedly stabbing another woman in Newport News

Newport News, Va. – A Newport News woman has been arrested and charged after a stabbing, police tell NewsChannel 3.

On August 2 at approximately 2:55 a.m., officers responded to the 1000 block of 36th Street in reference to a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the 31-year-old female victim, who told them that the suspect was inside of the home.
Officers made contact with 35-year-old Catina Liles.

Liles told police that she stabbed the victim after a physical altercation began.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Catina Liles of the 1000 block of 36th Street was arrested and charged with one count of malicious wounding.
