Norfolk, Va. – Norfolk Animal Control has reported capturing two foxes, within the last two weeks, in the Northside Park community, that exhibited neurological symptoms similar to rabies, according to the Norfolk Department of Public Health.

There were no animal or human exposures, so the animals were not tested, officials say. However, in May 2014, a fox captured in that same area did test positive for rabies. Officials want residents to be aware and stay alert.
