Gloucester County Sheriff D.W. Warren Jr. presented three citizens with the Gloucester Sheriff’s Office Civilian Lifesaving Award at a recent Board of Supervisors meeting.

The three citizens, Michael Hedrick, Kelvin Coleman and Brandon Harrington, helped saved the life of Elysha Wilkinson, who was trapped inside her vehicle while it was burning after a vehicle crash on Farys Mill Road on June 25th.

According to the sheriff’s office, the citizens were able to break the glass out of the vehicle and remove her to safety.

They say Wilkinson would have remained trapped and succumbed to the flames had it not been for these brave individuals.
