MADISON, Wis. — A California woman was injured after sneaking into a giraffe exhibit at a Wisconisn zoo over the weekend.
The incident happened Saturday at the Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison.
Police say Amanda Hall, 24, told them she climbed the fence to the exhibit because she loves giraffes.
Wally, a 2-year-old giraffe licked her face, then turned around and kicked Hall in the face.
A Zoo curator Jeff says the giraffe was just reacting to someone coming into its home.
Hall was not seriously injured, but was given a citation for harassment of zoo animals. The fine is about $686.
