The Old Dominion University Dynasty Dance Team and the Monarch Cheerleaders took home big honors from a national dance and cheer competition.
More than 40 teams competed.
The spirit squads received a silver and bronze bid, making them automatic qualifiers to compete for a national championship in the spring.
"It was awesome. It was such a great experience and we are very thankful to come away with the bronze bid."
"Honestly, it was the best feeling in the world. I loved it," said Junior Diamond Hunt.
"I was very excited. I was shocked and shocking is good. It was nothing but exciting. We went in there first year competing. We didn't expect to come out with anything, so to get a silver bid was really exciting."
The cheer squad won superior ribbons for their game day routine, in addition to being named the most improved squad.
The dance team took home the superior award for their game day routine.
