Two charged with heroin possession in Manteo

Dare County, N.C. – Two people have been arrested and faces heroin charges in Dare County, according to the Dare County Sheriff’s Office.

On August 15, 2014, the Dare County Narcotics Task Force was continuing an ongoing investigation into the sale and distribution of Heroin in Dare County. A traffic stop related to the investigation was conducted in Manteo, and a quantity of heroin was recovered, according to Chief Deputy Steve Hoggard of the Dare County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrested 20-year-old Joseph Stephen Jett of Edenton, North Carolina. Jett is charged with possession with the Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver Heroin (felony); Conspire to Sell or Deliver Heroin; and Maintain a Vehicle/Dwelling or Place to keep a Controlled Substance.

Jett was committed to the Dare County Detention Center in lieu of $20,000 bond.

Also arrested was 19-year-old Anna Catherine Baggett of Edenton, North Carolina. Baggett is charged with Possession with the Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver Heroin (felony); and Conspire to Sell or Deliver Heroin.

Baggett was committed to the Dare County Detention Center in lieu of $30,000 bond.
